Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because...This is the national sporting body of a major international sport. --DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 03:59, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

the article at the moment has one source and it is a self published website. the article fails WP:NRV, the organization is not notable just because it exists. WP:ORGSIG. if someone wants to put the article in their draft space, write a good article then publish it again, that would be appropriate. Jadeslair (talk) 04:12, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The article has two source, one of which is completely independent. More can be found easily with a simple search. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:27, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We do not have to search, the sources need to be listed Jadeslair (talk) 05:04, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually @Jadeslair:, you are expected to search for additional sources before nominating an article for deletion. See WP:BEFORE, section D. That applies specifically to AfD, but a speedy deletion nomination on the grounds of notability should also check for sources.-gadfium 05:19, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, well then I am sorry. I did not know about that rule. I normally do a quick search but not an in depth one. It seems I was hasty, Once again I am sorry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jadeslair (talkcontribs) 13:11, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
