Removed Bowser from the entry. Bowser is a 'koopa' (corruption of the Japanese word 'kappa'), which is a sort of turtle-demon. Kit Foxtrot

Pangolin

[edit]

Anyone seen any sources linking the really, truly, existing archaelogical evidence of Pangolins in Europe with the story? Tartarasque (talk) 16:48, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish

[edit]

"Tarrasquear" in Spanish means "to chomp". I doubt this is coincidence, but which came first, the word or the tarrasque? 204.186.60.188 12:56, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't really matter, without a source it's original research. WLU 20:20, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Impact

[edit]

Surely a brief mention of the Tarrasque (Dungeons & Dragons) is at least mildly appropriate in this section, even with the link to the disambiguation page at the top. Steamboat28 (talk) 14:10, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Traditional cries

[edit]

Does anyone have a translation of the traditional cries?

"Lagadigadèu, la Tarasco, la Tarasco
Lagadigadèu, la Tarasco dóu castèu
Leissas-la passa la vièio masco,
Leissas-la passa que vai dansa."

And what language is it? Occitan? Catalan? 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 02:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

St Martha

[edit]

During a dull bit of the 2021 Tour de France TV's Matt Rendell told (British) viewers of ITV4's live coverage that St Martha was aided and abetted in her seeing-off of the Tarasque by an army of hedgehogs. Where the blazes did he get that from? Mr Larrington (talk) 14:46, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
