shoudn't it go to wikisource? 89.77.224.136 (talk) 16:42, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I hope that the current analysis, which is an experiment on my part, is a more useful idea than stashing raw (and error-riddled) text at Wikisource; since Wikipedia is a readers' service, I have attempted to provide footnotes that link the ideas of the poem to their treatment elsewhere in Wikipedia, to enlarge upon Marvell's condensed diction and to elucidate the structure and meaning of his poem. I only fear that someone will pass by and plaster these commonplaces with "Original Research" tags, with the result that one will be supposed to scout out supportive quotations, bloating the footnotes.
It does seem to me that there should be room in Wikipedia for moderate, middle-of-the-road adult discourse, side-by-side with the kind of cultural analysis one finds, say, in the Wikipedia article on Disneyland, which I scanned today with disappointment. Most editors, I sense, refrain from analysing any works of art or literature in Wikipedia, which is stuffed with plot summaries and trivia lists instead.--Wetman (talk) 05:35, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revisions to "The Garden"[edit]

Hello, My class just completed a semester-long revision project to "The Garden" article. The students have added an overview, a synopsis to the poem, and sections on reception, criticism, and related works. Their work has greatly expanded the original article and added many reputable scholarly sources to the reference section. We are honored and humbled to be part of the Wikipedia community. Please let us know if you have comments on our work. Thank you! Sellenz (talk) 03:35, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
