Untitled[edit]

Tommy enjoyed, on his days away from training, visiting the local dump site and firing a 22 calibre rifle at rats. He also remarked how much he enjoyed getting punched, many of which he received. A friendly fellow, he made people he met feel good about having met him. Cause of his death remains a mystery.

Death, age 50[edit]

No mystery... In his youth he drove like maniac, even killed a person, somebody check on court records, but he did not get any penalty, except his license was suspended.(he had few more years left, that was a mistake) In January 1982, while he was driving his gypsy taxi, he was hit by another car, he was hospitalized and released, only to go back to hospital again a week later. He was 50.5. I do not know why on boxrec (but nothing surprises me there) they have his age all messed up. Tommy was not a crazy man, but he was weird.

Hurricane's Boxing Years[edit]

HIS BOXING YEARS WRONG! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.99.0.115 (talk) 20:35, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright New York Times Company Feb 15, 1982 Tommy (Hurricane) Jackson, the Rockaway Beach heavyweight who lost a bid for the world championship in 1957, died yesterday morning at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Queens. He was 50 years old.... rest you can find out by yourself.

I did not question when he died, im the one who corrected it on boxrec + many other bios, they had him dead at 49 for long time, that's how things are there unfortunately, it's their sad norm.

And some other people emailed them too, it took months to change it lol!

everyone is welcome to correct things, but not to remove info on historical fight that's pure vandalism/IGNORANCE! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tombak2 (talkcontribs) 17:47, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits re: fights with Baker[edit]

Are problematic for numerous reasons; not only are they POV, unsourced, and stylistically unacceptable, but given their tone, undue emphasis on Baker, and name of the user's account, they're pretty clearly designed to promote Baker's career within Mr. Jackson's article. 76.248.147.199 (talk) 17:49, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am happy to clean and copyedit, once it's determined that doing so will not constitute edit warring. 76.248.147.199 (talk) 18:02, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
how can i promote something that never happened, duh, think straigh, u should have cleared it first before removing all that hard work, thats not helping an article but vandalizing it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tombak2 (talkcontribs) 18:05, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but you're on a bit of a rampage: the claims are not supported by any of your sources, you're using this article to burnish Mr. Baker's reputation, and you're edit warring, not listening to other editors. You've pretty much got a single purpose, pushing your point of view. Accusing others who are trying to clean up after you of vandalism is unacceptable. In the meantime the article is a mess, courtesy your attempts to turn it into a legacy for Mr. Baker. 76.248.147.199 (talk) 18:09, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wow--this is apparently spillover from Bob Baker (boxer), with edit warring going back at least five years [1], and a sockmaster named Boxingwear, [2], with many IPs flowering after his block. At least one of the IPs reveals something about background, referring to a website he/she takes credit for [3], which wouldn't constitute a reliable source. This probably has extended to far more boxing articles than one cares about.... 76.248.147.199 (talk) 22:56, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

here im defending baker u say im attackin then at end im praising him, thats huge ambiguity, learn difference, duh, im not boxingwear or whoever but call me what u want i dont care lol!u made my date with utmost stupidity thanx!
