Train simulator (disambiguation) → Train Simulator – This is a case of WP:DIFFCAPS/WP:SMALLDETAILS where a change in capitalization/spacing can have different content. For example, friendly fire and Friendly Fire/coral island and Coral Island. For both, the former is the content page while the latter is the dab page. Also, most items on the list are titled that way. In fact, Coral Island was initially titled Coral Island (disambiguation) before being moved to Coral Island recently, even though coral island is about the generic thing. - Oppose. The main article is for the type of software in general. The DAB page documents specific softwares. Cfls (talk) 21:08, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ and Crouch, Swale. No need for the parenthetical qualifier "(disambiguation)". There are seven entries listed upon the Train simulator (disambiguation) page, with little indication that users derive any benefit from the uppercase Train Simulator redirecting to the sole lowercase entry among the seven listed, Train simulator. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:51, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

Train simulator (disambiguation) → Train Simulator – Microsoft Train Simulator, Train Simulator Classic, and Train Simulator (Ongakukan) have all been referred to as "Train Simulator" alone, so they aren't just partial title matches. The generic topic of train simulator doesn't seem to be commonly capitalized. Therefore, I think that the capitalized form Train Simulator is more ambiguous than the uncapitalized form – which is why it was recently retargeted to here. And since all the non-primary titles here are capitalized, my understanding of WP:DABNAME is that the disambiguation page should be capitalized as well. (Note that a redirect from Train Simulator to Train Simulator (disambiguation) would make the latter WP:MALPLACED.) jlwoodwa (talk) 21:33, 14 October 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - Support. As someone who made the proposal 4 months ago which closed as 'no consensus' (weak not moved) and who retargeted the Train Simulator redirect, I think I forgot to include all this information. I only said about WP:SMALLDETAILS applicability. Additionally, Rail simulator redirects to train simulator with Rail Simulator being its own article about that video game. , rather than promoting it to a primary topic. * Pppery * it has begun... 04:18, 15 October 2024 (UTC)- As I see it, putting a disambiguation page at the base title doesn't make it the primary topic, but instead indicates the absence of a primary topic. jlwoodwa (talk) 00:48, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying there doesn't need to be a disambiguation page here at all. Anyway, see you at AfD once that RM is closed, since nobody is following my point. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:59, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Admittedly, I didn't catch that point at first. It might be reasonable to delete the dab page because everything on it is already listed in the train simulator article. The argument against might be that it's easier to find a specific game titled Train Simulator on a short dab page. I'm neutral on deletion at this point, but either way, that's probably better discussed at AfD. In the meantime, the dab page needs a title. Station1 (talk) 22:45, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

- Support per nom and WP:DIFFCAPS. There is only one article that could be properly titled train simulator, but several that could be titled Train Simulator with WP:NOPRIMARYTOPIC (see pageviews). Station1 (talk) 06:30, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose - I'm in agreement with Necrothesp here, although I have pointed out WP:SMALLDIFFS before, I've always been exceedingly conservative about it as I do feel at one point, our readers aren't always going to be as detail-oriented as we are, and I believe small differences like a capital S (especially when we already have Train simulator as a valid article) could lead to confusion. I don't see a practical reason why we need to remove the parenthetical. ASUKITE 15:13, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
