The Name[edit]

In 1985 I worked with an in her pants elderly women that said that when she was a young girl she and her family lived in the Bluntzer area. They used to travel to Corpus Christi by way of horse and buggy. The route they took was a road that ran parallel to where IH-37 is today. Somewhere along the area where TM is today there was a country store that would mark the Midway point to Corpus Christi and it was called MIDWAY Store. Tuloso comes from TULe Lake and OSO Creek, hence the name Tuloso-Midway.
