The article states the ship was never built. Doesn't that make it a proposed name rather than "the name"? I also do not see how it could be the "only" ship named for ANYTHING if it was never built or launched or christened?69.40.243.207 (talk) 16:41, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The phrasing is taken from the official Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships. It is used there for at least dozens of cancelled vessels. RobDuch (talk) 22:41, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
