New World Champion[edit]

@Niceguyedc: FYI - regarding this edit upgrading Wang to the gold medal. A whole group of medals are set to be reassigned after the banning of several of Russia's top walkers. I think this IP has jumped the gun, however, as this was only a few days ago and the IAAF has not issued a statement to update the medal positions yet. Borchin's golds still stand as of today. I figured it might be something like that, but since I didn't see anything from the IAAF, I reverted the full set of edits that I found. The quote from the AP story is "The bans do not affect any Olympic medals, although five world championship gold medals and a silver medal from 2009 and 2011 may be re-awarded."[1] The edits might be reinstated, but not until the IAAF rules on it. -Niceguyedc Go Huskies! 23:12, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
