Notable[edit]

I thought that this painting deserved its own article based upon it being the first nude by Courbet (an artist famous for his nudes) accepted by the Paris Salon. I later found that there are at least four other paintings with the same title, by Tiepolo, Delacroix, Manet, and Renoir. The Courbet appears first when searching this title online, but I have no reference for relative importance of the works.FigureArtist (talk) 02:34, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making a note of this on the talk page. There are far more than four works that either go by this name or with similar variations. While this cluster was popular in the 1860s, there were dozens before it and after it, since the subject of women and parrots is a popular cliche in art. I think we need a primary disambiguation page. Viriditas (talk) 21:53, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
