WikiProject Dance To-do list:

Year of organization[edit]

What is the meaning of the line saying this competition "has been held annually since they were organised by the ICBD in 1980"? Ten Dance appears to have been held annually since 1978. Ofwaterfall (talk) 19:56, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change of name[edit]

The organization controlling the world championships has again changed its name. It is now the World Dance Council (WDC), and so the title of this and other articles must be changed also. Their website says:

"The WDC is the world authority for professional Dance and Dance Sport incorporating the World Dance Sport Committee and the World Social Dance Committee.
"The World Dance Council Ltd, until 1st June 2006 known as the World Dance & Dance Sport Council Ltd (WD&DSC), fomerly the International Council of Ballroom Dancing (ICBD), was established on 22nd September 1950 in Edinburgh, Scotland."

I am going to suggest that, for the sake of simplicity, we call this article World Professional 10 Dance Champions, with the present fuller description in the lead para. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

later: see Dancesport World Champions (Professional Standard) talk page. Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:32, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
