Possible mergers[edit]

The topic title sets this article within the medical-related space on Wikipedia. The initial editor's input is a diligent effort. However, the conflation of very different aspects of "zinc" in HIV is, I think, non-standard. Moreover, there will be little left after appropriate focusing. For example, the zinc supplement topic is already addressed to some extent in HIV/AIDS at the HIV/AIDS#Alternative medicine section: "Dietary intake of micronutrients at RDA levels by HIV-infected adults is recommended by the World Health Organization.[153][154] The WHO further states that several studies indicate that supplementation of vitamin A, zinc, and iron can produce adverse effects in HIV positive adults.[154]" The text here is now, "There is no good evidence that supplementation with zinc improves outcomes in HIV." The ZFN topic recapitulates content at Zinc finger nuclease and would seem best merged to the existing Zinc finger nuclease#Zinc finger nuclease treatment of HIV section. I am soliciting input regarding these proposed mergers, particularly alternatives options. FeatherPluma (talk) 21:46, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes agree with merging the high quality content to other articles. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:46, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Anything worthwhile should be merged. Alexbrn (talk) 06:49, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I will complete these mergers in several days unless there is new dissenting input. FeatherPluma (talk) 00:02, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The ZFN content has been merged to Zinc finger nuclease at the existing Zinc finger nuclease#Zinc finger nuclease treatment of HIV section. Some content here should go to Zinc deficiency rather than HIV/AIDS. I aim to work on this in a day or two.FeatherPluma (talk) 23:16, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Merged to various articles, and redirected to Nutrition and HIV/AIDS. FeatherPluma (talk) 00:01, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
