  • Everything fine with length, date, citations etc, but isn't the hook a bit dull? I've added a bit of text to the article so how about something like
  • That ALT1 hook is interesting, but it looks like it might present a bit of a BLP issue, regarding Pippa Savage... The fact that Clay is from the United States (didn't just live there) seems to me like a good potential hook.
Looking at the article, I had some concerns about tying down facts. The article says she was born in Orange County, California, based on the "Fast Facts" box in this source, but the text of that same source page gives her birthplace as Myrtle Beach, which is in South Carolina. Both the article and the source say she attended "Montesory School" in Myrtle Beach, but dollars-to-donuts that is just a misspelling of "Montessori". Any chance of resolving those inconsistencies? --Orlady (talk) 18:02, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
I think I have resolved these concerns by removing the information about her primary school schooling. I've replaced this with a source from where she rowed on the university level and some information on when and where she took up the sport, and her move to Australia. I thought about the Pippa thing but given the big news about this in Australia, I thought it might head into BLP areas unless referenced obliquely. Hence, the DYK hook related to where she came from. It could now be changed to say she didn't take up the sport until she attended university. --LauraHale (talk) 00:00, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
The issue of her place of birth remains; the source it is referenced to contradicts itself by giving it as both Orange County, Florida (in the fast facts box on LHS) and as Myrtle Beach (in the interesting facts section). Another source needs to be found or the birthplace should be removed from the article. If we can confirm a US birth how about

Um, now the article doesn't say anything about where she was born, but the hook says she was born in the United States. If the hook names the birth location, it needs to be in the article.
I have re-inserted the fact that Amy went to school in Myrtle Beach, as all sources that mention her early school agree on Myrtle Beach.
There are a number of errors that I think are attributable to Australians being understandably confused about U.S. geography (for example, one place described her high school as being in "Myrtle Beach Sth, Carolina", and another said Lewis & Clark College is in Sydney -- those are obviously errors). Every source that I've seen that mentions her birth place puts it somewhere in the U.S. (including "Orange County, United States of America", "Myrtle Beach in the United States", "North Carolina", and "Chapel Hill, United States"), so it's clear she was born somewhere in the United States. --Orlady (talk) 04:40, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
