Deportations of the Ingrian Finns[edit]
- ... that at the end of World War II, the Soviet Union forced Finland to return 55,000 Finnic evacuees from Ingria, only to deport them to interior areas of central Russia?

New enough, long enough, adequately referenced. All refs are offline, so unable to check for close paraphrasing. QPQ done. I have two questions about the text. Under Deportations, you mention several different deportations, but don't say to where they were deported. Under Aftermath, you talk about the "rapid assimilation" of Ingrian Finns – do you mean into the general Russian population? Or is this religious assimilation, as in the beginning you identified them as Lutheran? Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 20:10, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sources I used didn't specify locations for every deportation wave, last sentence of that section does mention major destinations though. Assimilation means general ethnic/linguistic assimilation as many stopped identifying as Ingrian Finns (resulting major drop of population in census results) and even more stopped using Finnish language. Tried to clarify those points a bit in article.--Staberinde (talk) 20:41, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
