Father Mapple[edit]

Created/expanded by CWH (talk). Self nominated at 18:15, 7 September 2014 (UTC).

  • Length and date are OK. Article is classified as a stub and there's an issue of being unreviewed. Hook is cited although it does not explicitly points out that it is Chapter 8 of Moby-Dick. --Carlojoseph14 (talk) 10:10, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks: added Moby-Dick, or The Whale to notes. It's no longer a stub, so will remove "stub," but I can't review. Cheers!ch (talk) 15:37, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
All the objections have been met -- stub, reviewed, hook is now explicitly cited -- is there anything more for me to do? Cheers ch (talk) 05:36, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Carlojoseph14 It's been since September 11 that questions raised have been met. Is there something more I should do?ch (talk) 02:30, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Following Rule D2, some paragraphs does not need inline citation since these are plot summaries. Although I strongly suggest, that you still need to cite the direct quote at the end of the paragraph. Carlojoseph14 (talk) 02:53, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply, Carlojoseph14, but -- apologies -- I don't understand. The quote "fashioned after a ship’s fiddle-headed beak" is followed by a note without even a space! ch (talk) 05:48, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
I did not say "to cite the hook". Please read and understand, I am referring to the other paragraphs! -Carlojoseph14 (talk) 06:44, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
Done! Thanks again. ch (talk) 16:16, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
  • The paragraph under "In notable adaptations" needs a cite, per Rule D2. This is not plot summary. Yoninah (talk) 22:49, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Done! Thanks once more. ch (talk) 00:36, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
  • Sorry for the lengthy review process, ch. I went over the page again and noted a few places where statements are made without verification from reliable sources. I think that more critical/thematic analysis would benefit the page, as well. You might find something in the CliffNotes ref that I added. Best, Yoninah (talk) 23:30, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Fixed it up, thanks for the suggestions. ch (talk) 19:26, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks, the page looks a lot better now. New enough, long enough, adequately referenced, offline sources AGF. Hook ref verified and cited inline. Now there is just the matter of a QPQ. Since you have successfully had 5 of your DYK nominations approved, from now on, you need to review another nomination for each nomination that you submit. Please note here which nomination you review. You can find reviewing instructions at Wikipedia:Did you know/Reviewing guide. Yoninah (talk) 20:48, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi, Yoninah did a couple of QPQs to make up for lost time, e.g Template:Did you know nominations/Battle of Huangtiandang ch (talk) 03:32, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
  • Hi, I have a question about that review. Please see my comment there. Yoninah (talk) 09:37, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
