- ... that John Heisman, the namesake of the Heisman Trophy, given annually to the best college football player, took his exams orally due to poor eyesight?
- ALT1:... that John Heisman, the namesake of the Heisman Trophy, given annually to the best college football player, invented the "hike" which starts each play?
- ALT2:... that John Heisman, the namesake of the Heisman Trophy, given annually to the best college football player, was instrumental in legalizing the forward pass?

- Length, Date, and Earwigs check. However, the reference cited inline does not mention his taking exams orally (it merely mentions poor eyesight) nor that he invented the use of the word "hike" (it mentions that he only instructed them to use it, not that he was first). - My apologies for forgetting about QPQ. For his claim to being first rather than when he came up with the idea, it might be best to check the "Legacy" section rather than the article body. For example, Heisman's hall of fame profile states quite clearly he "introduced the "hike" vocal signal for initiating a play". I added another source to both claims. - Thanks for taking care of that. Both hooks are approved and good to go (I was able to pull a Google Book excerpt to verify the new cite for oral exams and "hike"). Also, the image is PD-Old (from 1918). Mifter (talk) 18:18, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
