Redneck Fishing Tournament[edit]

  • ... that the Redneck Fishing Tournament has seen as many as 10,600 Asian carp caught by its participants without the use of one fishing pole? Source: " Fishing poles are specifically banned from the tournament" "previous tournaments have seen as many as 10,600" (St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the event's official website rules and information page)

  • @Strikerforce: Welcome back to DYK after over 7 years! The article is new enough and long enough. QPQ not needed (fewer than 5 DYKs). The hook is interesting and cited (the Post-Dispatch article also mentions the no poles requirement) and I don't see any other textual issues. One thing worth noting is that you put a stub tag on the article. If you remove it, the article should be eligible. I'm also going to suggest rewording the hook to make it more structurally appealing (using the same source): Raymie (tc) 04:30, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that participants in the Redneck Fishing Tournament have caught as many as 10,600 Asian carp without using any fishing poles?
  • @Raymie: Good to be back! I hope to be more active around these parts in the future. I've removed the stub tag and I like your suggested alt blurb. StrikerforceTalk 14:09, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
  • We should be good then with ALT1! Raymie (tc) 18:53, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
