The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends[edit]

Created/expanded by Koavf (talk), The Interior (talk). Nominated by The Interior (talk) at 19:34, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

  • Comment - I think this story is great (even if a rip-off of The Mighty Boosh's "Journey to the Centre of the Punk"), but the hook is referenced to a blog that is simply re-posting news from MTV (better source). Otherwise it's great. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 23:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Obviously I agree about the greatness, haven't seen any Mighty Boosh though. As for the ref, Exclaim! is a pretty good mag, one of our better ones up here in the north for music. Not really a blog. It appears to be an original article by a staff writer. The MTV ref is good too, I'll add it as a backup. The Interior (Talk) 00:18, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, what I meant to say was that it wasn't reliable because it ends in ".ca". </kidding> I was basing it off of appearance, but it does seem to be legit (even notable enough for an article). So I guess it doesn't matter either way, although they are directly referencing MTVHive as their source for that info. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 00:27, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
It's a bad idea to bait Canadians during the playoffs, especially when their team is down against a team from somewhere called Lost Angelees or something (preceding typed during commercial break):) The Interior (Talk) 00:37, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't know what any of that means, but nobody should ever lose anything to Los Angeles. My heart goes out to the victims. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 01:48, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

My two cents I was alerted because I created the article (initially as a redirect with some HTML-comment text), but The Interior actually added the relevant copy. I'd suggest some re-wording the hook along these lines:

Either way, it's an interesting DYK and I'm glad that The Interior saw fit to add to this article. —Justin (koavf)TCM 07:06, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

  • - Article meets size and date requirements, hook is sourced and very interesting (probably should have said this before, new to DYK). Seems good-to-go. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 06:12, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Response I'm not familiar with DYK--how will this be worded and when will it be on the Main Page? —Justin (koavf)TCM 06:18, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
