They Live on The Land

  • ... that They Live on The Land was formulated based on interviews with 196 of the 209 families in Gorgas, Alabama? Source: Tippett, James S. (1941). "Review of They Live on the Land". The High School Journal. 24 (3): 141–142. ISSN 0018-1498.

  • This looks good as far as article length, newness, policy, QPQ etc. However, the article and the hook both use "household" (singular), when I believe "households" would be correct here. Even then though, the source uses the word "families." I would recommend that this be used in both the article and hook. It may also be a good idea to have have the citation in the article point to pg. 142 specifically, but I don't think that's super necessary here as it's only two pages at present and it's not a particularly contentious claim. "Household" was a typo on my part, now fixed in the article and the hook per AviationFreak's kind suggestion, which I trust Amkgp is OK with (thanks for the nom btw!). I need to look at the ref to see what part of the review I was relying on for which part of the article and separate them between the first and last page of the review to see about making the ref page-specific. Looks good, thanks! AviationFreak💬 19:13, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Unpiping link; otherwise this is too ambiguous. Yoninah (talk) 17:31, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the hook is simply too vague. It doesn't tell you what the subject is, the date, or why we should care. What do you think about adding a few more details, like:
  • ALT1: ... that the social study They Live on The Land was based on interviews with 196 of the 209 families in a rural Alabama town during the Great Depression? Yoninah (talk) 18:57, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Yoninah, I am OK with it. Its has more info and I assume FOARP will also feel the same — Amkgp 💬 20:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Hook facts cited in article. Hook interesting; I find the most interesting part to be that it's almost the entire population, I don't know if a hook could be written that comments on that, but it's fine as it is. ALT1 approved. Kingsif (talk) 21:47, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
  • ALT1a also approved, and preferred. While "nearly the entire population" isn't necessarily cited, 196 out of 209 feels like BLUE to me. Kingsif (talk) 22:23, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you! Striking unused hooks. Yoninah (talk) 22:27, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
  • I'm OK with this. FOARP (talk) 10:30, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
