Query from nominator[edit]

Schwede66 Ive fixed this issue, I was using them to encourage others to expand them. Please can you reassess the request? I understand from Wikipedia:Did you know/Reviewer instructions that articles should only receive the rejected tag when "Article is either completely ineligible or otherwise requires an insurmountable amount of work before becoming eligible". Thanks very much, John Cummings (talk) 08:48, 10 April 2024 (UTC) Schwede66 08:56, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

John Cummings, do I understand this right that you nominate incomplete articles at DYK, encouraging other editors to complete the article for you by placing citation needed tags? Ping to Narutolovehinata5 who closed this. Schwede66 08:59, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Schwede66, thanks for sorting out the formatting and putting my reply in the right place :) I added all the information I was able to find, since its a current event its very likely to change I was just trying to encourage others to contribute. Thanks again, John Cummings (talk) 09:02, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In such a case it would very much be better to submit the article in a rather complete state, albeit meeting WP:DYKCOMPLETE. DYK isn't for unfinished articles or for those that are currently undergoing major changes, as stability is important. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 09:04, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Narutolovehinata5, thanks, I'm not sure what you mean by complete, I can't find the term in Wikipedia:Did_you_know/Reviewer_instructions. I've created as full article as possible given the sources. Could you explain what the next steps are for the nomination? I can't seem to find any documentation on it in Wikipedia:Did_you_know#DYK_rules, I assume it was rejected due to Wikipedia:Did_you_know/Guidelines 'presentability' but it wasn't explained in the review and needing additional work on 'presentability' seems like it would have been classified as a 'maybe' per Wikipedia:Did_you_know/Reviewer_instructions. I think the comment on the nomination was accurate. I do think it might have been harsh to close this that early. The article is not in great shape - there should not be a blockquote in the lead and that's from a skimread - but I wouldn't have closed this that quickly.--Launchballer 09:37, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Launchballer, thank you very much for your reply, can you tell me what the next steps are to reopen it? The block quote has been removed (thanks AirshipJungleman29) so the issue you raised and the issue the original reviewer raised have been resolved. John Cummings (talk) 15:19, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By going into the history, finding a preclosure edit, and restoring to that version. I've done this for you, but you will need a QPQ for this.--Launchballer 15:29, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Launchballer thank you very much :), I think I've already done the QPQ with Template:Did you know nominations/KDCD-TV but happy to do another one if I added them up wrong. John Cummings (talk) 15:46, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So you did, it just wasn't where a reviewer would expect to see it. Moved.--Launchballer 15:49, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
