Trichophyton tonsurans is a species of fungus in the Arthrodermataceae family. It is a common cause of tinea capitis in the United Kingdom.[1]

Unlike other causes of tinea elsewhere on the body, Trichophyton tonsurans does not undergo fluoresce under ultraviolet light (Wood's lamp).
