Mendez was featured on the first season of BET Black Entertainment Television series Rip the Runway Model Search as the only plus-size model and she was featured on Lifetime’s Matched in Manhattan with Matt Titus.

Biography[edit]

Christina Mendez is a notable urban plus-size model.[citation needed] Besides modeling and acting she is a strong advocate for Autism Awareness.

At the age of two her son Damian was diagnose with Autism and since then she has coordinated and participated in various fundraising and awareness events to promote awareness.

Modeling career[edit]

Christina Mendez has appeared in various television fashion segments including the Rachel Ray Show, Fox News, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, and Univision Morning news. Christina has modeled for Lane Bryant, All You Magazine, PLUS Model Magazine, Glamour Magazine, Undiscovered Magazine, St. Louis American, Venus Diva Magazine, SKORCH Magazine, Akua Magazine, Queens Tribune. Her runway shows include BET Presents: Rip The Runway, Lane Bryant In-Store Promotional Fashion Show, Art of Curves Fashion Show, Hampton University's Rip The Runway Fashion Show and many more. Mendez was also selected to be the featured model for designers such as Apple Bottoms, Dereon, Rocawear, Baby Phat, Qristly Frazier Designs, BLUR Custom Dezigns, Abby Z and Bed Of Rose.

She recently appeared on the hit show BET Rip The Runway Model Search where they selected Christina out of hundreds that auditioned. Mendez was the only plus model. The cameras followed Christina from the audition process, to makeovers and through a day in their life, a segment where Ms. Mendez told her heartfelt story of taking time off from work to home school her son Damian who was diagnosed with Autism at age two. The next stop for this plus model was to Rip the Runway as she opened the “Size Sexy” segment of the show.

Mendez signed with Models Service Agency, LLC as a plus-size model.

Television career[edit]

Ms. Mendez has moved into the television and film market. Christina recently landed a position as Celebrity Interviewer for one of the hottest hip-hop shows “The VIP Section TV”. She’s interviewed celebrities such as Slim Thug, Jazmine Sullivan, Young Berg, Skillz, Jo De La Rosa and many more. Christina is also busy working on her first featured film which is scheduled to begin filming in October 2008.
