Introduction[edit]

Ole Petter Storstad, male, born Sept 13 1973 in Levanger, Norway.

Lived and went to school in Verdal, Norway.

Currently resides in Nittedal (just north of Oslo), Norway.


Writing and contributing at Wikipedia initially as part of the Technology Management course, lead by Espen Andersen at BI Norwegian Business School.

My major contributions at Wikipedia so far: Remote_and_Virtual_Tower (creator of article)

Education[edit]

Studied electronics at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim between 1994 and 1999.

Spent one year in Longyearbyen, Svalbard 1997-98 studying Arctic Geophysics at the University Centre in Svalbard.

Currently taking part of the Executive MBA programme at BI Norwegian Business School, graduating during summer of 2011.

Jobs[edit]

After receiving the MSc degree (Norwegian: Sivilingeniør), he started working for Telenor Satellite Services, Space Systems Division in February 2000.

Left Telenor and started working at Avinor Air Navigation Services as a Senior Systems Engineer in 2007. Located at the Avinor Head Quarter in Oslo, Norway.

Specialized in the field of airspace surveillance systems. Has also been working in the NORACON Programme Management Group, coordinating the NORACON contribution in about 20 projects as part of the Single European Sky ATM Research Programme (SESAR).


Leaving his current position mid June 2011, to take upon the position as the new head of Avinor FNT Teknisk Senter in Asker, Norway.

Interests[edit]

Cross-country skiing. Participated in Birkebeinerrennet several times. Personal best in 2009: 2h 59min 59sec

Cycling. SK Rye Expresslaget. Personal best in Styrkeprøven (Trondheim - Oslo 540km) race in 2009: 13h 17 min, 2nd best time ever.

Triathlon. Only did one full distance, the Norseman triathlon on 2008.

Computers and gadgets. Anything from Apple Inc.
