October 2014[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:Academic Challenger, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:49, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Please help me with... I have already donated. why do you keep pestering me? 23.28.190.122 (talk) 15:16, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- IP addresses can be used by more than one person, and there is no way to know if you have seen such a message before. If you throw money in a charity kettle in front of a store, do you expect the person to leave before you go to the store the next time? If you create an account, you can disable the fundraising messages- one of many benefits in doing so. 331dot (talk) 15:34, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
