Note: examples of problems with your edit:

  • "Among the quantities ... were both the sum of their linear momenta as well as the sum of their kinetic energies." Not "was"
  • "used in statics". Not "used in the statics".
  • "boring of cannons". Not "boring of canons"
  • "corpusculo-kinetic theory of heat". No need for "corpuscular-kinetic theory of heat"
  • "Matter is composed of atoms". Not "The matter is composed of atoms"
  • "forms of energy can perish into matter". Not "forms of energy can perish into the matter"
