"used in statics". Not "used in the statics".
"boring of cannons". Not "boring of canons"
"corpusculo-kinetic theory of heat". No need for "corpuscular-kinetic theory of heat"
"Matter is composed of atoms". Not "The matter is composed of atoms"
"forms of energy can perish into matter". Not "forms of energy can perish into the matter"
