Ann every other article, please read wp:or. Slatersteven (talk) 15:58, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is not original research to read something in front of one's face, unless you really believe this gentleman was a descendent of ancient aliens. 92.12.140.5 (talk) 16:00, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Source? Slatersteven (talk) 16:01, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you stop, and provide the evidence for your claim here before the ban hammer is wielded. Slatersteven (talk) 16:03, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My evidence is the article itself.
Hubert Blaine Wolfe... etc. said his name means "wolf-killer, a resident of a stonehouse in a village, whose ancestors were conscientious shepherds whose sheep were well fed and carefully guarded against attack by ferocious enemies and whose ancestors 1,200,000 years before the first earth man, in a space ship made with tungsten and seven iridium motors and using light as a source of power, started a long journey across interstellar space, searching for a star around which was an inhabitable planet where they could establish a new race of intelligent mankind and where they would live long, happy lives and be free from attack by other intelligentsia from the outer space from whence they came".
I don't think it original research when he himself said the name is a story about ancient astronauts. 92.12.140.5 (talk) 16:07, 12 March 2023 (UTCs
No, but it is to claim it inspired anything, it also is not a published story, as such. Slatersteven (talk) 16:12, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not asserting its a "published story" per se, only that the name is a science fiction themed story. I didn't intend to imply it inspired Battlestar Galactica, only that it is similar to the plot, a story with similar themes. 92.12.140.5 (talk) 16:17, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yuo have tried adding the claim that it was "expanded" into " A " short science fiction story similar to the plot of Battlestar Galactica (A shot story is normally a published story)." There does not appear to have been an attempt to expand the name into a story, but rather an attempt to explain what the name means, its origins. Also the edit does imply (no its says) there are similarities, the implication is inspiration (normally see also's are for linked articles or articles on similar topics). I also think you need to read wp:spa. Slatersteven (talk) 16:24, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Look, I didn't intend to incite controversy. The versions of the name running into the hundreds of characters mentioning science fiction concepts did not appear before the 1960s, before then it was just an unusually long conventional name. Only the 35 character version appears in official documentation, the "my ancestors were ancient astronauts" nonsense version first appeared in a Christmas card he sent to someone, hardly the most official of sources, one could claim oneself to be named almost anything in personal correspondence. 92.12.140.5 (talk) 17:42, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

All I did was state that his name includes the claim he was a descendent of ancient astronauts, which it does. 92.12.140.5 (talk) 17:54, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
