Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin contributing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Mandelbrot set, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You should first confirm the verifiability, notability, and reliability of your sources on the talk page of the article (see here) for a general consensus and then add the content to the page. Oh, and don't take the reverts personally: they're part of the WP:BRD cycle. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 00:16, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You[edit]

Thank you for correcting my errors on the Person of the Year page, I was in a rush at school when I made the edit. No reply is necessary, just wanted to express my gratitude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by St.Jimmy666 (talkcontribs) 21:30, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four halfwidth tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:43, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring at Mandelbrot set[edit]

Hello AlecTeal93. I looked at your recent edits[1] [2] [3] at Mandelbrot set. There is also this edit done by an IP user but which still contains your name in its text. Here are problems with your editing:

  • You have broken the WP:3RR rule because your 3 similar edits were done within 7 minutes. It may be 4 edits if the IP number 95.144.126.217 is also yours.
  • You are edit warring with TheRingness who explains[4] the reason for deleting your added text.

Since you want to add a section called Informal definition to which TheRingness objects, you should state your opinion at Talk:Mandelbrot set and wait until other editors say what they think. The purpose of the Talk page is to discuss improvements to the Mandelbrot set article. Have a look at what has already been posted which will give you some idea of how the article has been developed. If you do that, I shall be happy to join the discussion. But I tell you here that what you have call "Informal Definition" is really tutorial material that is not suitable for the article. You may do better to contribute to the Wikibook on fractals which needs more tutorial material. Cuddlyable3 (talk) 07:47, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will add: Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia:No original research. Do it right now, before you make another edit. That's an official Wikipedia policy that you are violating by inserting original research into an article. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:38, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have posted a report [5] about the edit warring at the Mandelbrot set article. I suggest you express your opinion on the dispute to the article Talk page before further editing. Cuddlyable3 (talk) 20:40, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
