The Provincial Archive[edit]

Please see the comments at Talk:The Provincial Archive. Three reliable sources are sufficient enough to meet notability requirements without explicitly stating "X is a notable band". --kelapstick(bainuu) 01:58, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also Biteindex is not blatant advertisement as you had tagged it. Please be more careful with your speedy deletion tags. There are strict criteria that an article must meet in order to be eligible. --kelapstick(bainuu) 02:02, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll agree with The Provincial Archive upon further review, but how is Biteindex not? It is an article designed solely to refer to a service (the biteindex website), which in return, points to its own Wikipedia article as an accomplishment.BirdbrainedPhoenix (talk) 02:04, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While that may be the intention, the writing of the article is not such that it could be deleted via speedy deletion. The text of the tag is:
This article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because in its current form it serves only to promote an entity, person or product, and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic.
That is all that matters for speedy deletion, not intent. If you think it should be deleted on notability grounds you would have to use the PROD or AfD process. It would probably be deleted via that forum, and you can bring up the advertising issue there if you think it is relevant, however the link to the Wikipedia page would be a pretty weak argument in my opinion. --kelapstick(bainuu) 02:12, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The link back to the Wikipedia page was icing on the cake, my concern was the fact that it was an article that exists solely to promote a website. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate you taking the time. BirdbrainedPhoenix (talk) 02:15, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That would be the case if it were an article about the website, however it is an article about the theory. I have nominated it for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Biteindex, feel free to comment there if you like. --kelapstick(bainuu) 03:11, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
