Call For Fire[edit]

Hi Bob the cannibal,

I have recently started a page "Fire Discipline" The mandatory orders from an OP for a fire mission may fight nicely here, as this is what fire discipline is all about. I also intend to add orders at the guns for a mission. (warning order, ammo, bearing, elevation, & meathod of ajdustment/orders for FFE.

I think the call for fire section that you placed in the Artillery page is good, but should be moved .

Thanks, and I welcome your feedback.

UBIQUE!

Sure, take it. I don't mind. I've just completed training as a Cavalry scout. my knowledge is pretty basic, (this is how you call for fire, you get O-T factor like this, basically: this is the bare minimums needed to get from "Shit we need artillery!" to " 'Splash, out.' ... Die ya bastards!") but what I do know is from asking smart questions about the topic to sergeant giving us the instruction (an artilleryman) and some computerized simulation & spotting on a ~ $40,000 artillery simulator.

so yeah, if you want to move and mod, be my guest.

Hi Bob[edit]

Just wanted to thank you for updating the Cav Scout training stuff. I see you just finished training. It's been 15 years since I finished at Knox and I had forgotten the specifics. Where are you stationed now? I was at Ft. Bliss and OTS'd in 94. 3rd ACR moved to Ft. Carson, CO in 96 (I would have loved that!). I loved being a Scout in the field, but hated alot of the BS in the rear (you'll find out I guess). However, I would do it all over again, exactly the same, if I had the chance.

Congrats on becoming a Scout, the best MOS in the military. WHOAH! :)

Mad Mike AfD[edit]

Jeez, is there any way to alienate most of the human race he didn't follow? He's marginal, but on the notable side of marginal (but not for the IMDb listing; heck, I'm in the IMDb), and I have said so. And I'm a SJW, Quaker social democrat and proud friend of lots of GLBT folks, as well as an avid reader and reviewer (ask Toni or Eric) of Baen books. People are complicated. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:45, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • This isn't "niceypedia"; I think quite a few people might not like Adolf Hitler or Pol Pot or Enver Hoxha or Mao Zedong. They're semiprotected to minimize vandalism and hit-and-run axe grinding instead of receiving malicious AfDs. There are other options available than dragging "Hugo award WorldCon political bullshit" into Wikipedia.
Would it surprise you that he's a friend of the (trans) president of the Pink Pistols, (Erin Palette) who does occasionally post to his Facebook wall? (When she's not busier than a one-armed one-legged paperhanger in an ass kicking contest.)
He's "Marginal" enough to have no less a name than the former SFWA president John Scalzi defend his identification of being a notable author not only on the AfD, but on his personal blog, saying to, in effect, knock off the bullshit with him, Sarah Hoyt (rescinded AfD), and the rest of the puppies because the blast radius and fallout of this will cause more collateral damage than the people voting "delete" think it will or that they should be willing to accept. (And as my own personal aside, may well hurt Wikipedia('s tax-exempt nonprofit status) as a whole. That serves nobody and would likely result in the board coming down hard on the issue and instigators IOT maintain neutrality to maintain tax exemption. Thus the reason WP:NPOV is 'ironclad and non-negotiable'.)
When even the guy whose personal views you detest instead defends you from a claim by others, what's that say about the claim? Bob the Cannibal (talk) 04:31, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
