Welcome to the Wikipedia![edit]

Hello, and Welcome to the Wikipedia, Btar! Thanks for weighing in over on the Tourette syndrome article discussion. Hope you enjoy editing here and becoming a Wikipedian! Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:

And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, Wikiquette, and you can sign your name on any page by typing 4 tildes: ~~~~.

Best of luck, Btar, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 22:53, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adult Issues[edit]

Hi, Btar, I'm so glad you've got an account! I know you are really wanting to make a notable contribution to the TS page, and I was thinking you may be interested in writing an entirely new section? One way to do that, without having to go through a lot of edits, is to write the article orginally in a word processor, and do all of the editing, proof reading, and spell checking there. Next, you could add it to a Sandbox page of your User page, and ask others to check it on your sandbox, before actually moving it in to the article. If you want, I could help you set that up, or maybe Francis could do it?

I don't know if you've seen this brand new page on the TSA website, but all of this kind of information is sorely missing in the TS article on Wikipedia, and could be somehow addressed in Wikipedia (without violating the TSA copyright :-) I just thought it might interest you to write an entire section about Adult issues -- legal issues, housing, discrimination, airline travel, how to deal with dating, social issues, etcetera ? Here is the info which was just put up on the TSA website, to give you an idea of the kinds of things I'm mentioning. I've been meaning to do this, but perhaps you could do it better, and we could work together on refining the final wording ? Living with TS: Adult Challenges Sandy 23:00, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
