Vanity[edit]

Please stop adding unverifiable and in some cases provably false vanity content into Wikipedia. The extent of this vandalism is sufficient that you will receive no further warnings. Desist now, please, or you will be blocked from editing. Guy (Help!) 14:01, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(from user talk:JzG) You asked: Hi, can you kindly tell me what to do in regards to this?

I'm confused about this Robbie Glover article & of course upset, though I do want to do this the best way possible in regards to Wikipedia's terms etc... & the best way for Wikipedia.

If you could just kindly drop me an email please as I'm a little unsure whats happening thats all & I want to do this the best way for Wikipedia also.

Thanking you in advance, it is much appreciated & hope to hear from you soon.

Happy new year also :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crazymusicman2k (talkcontribs) 08:34, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The answer is: forget about it. We do not like self-promotion. Guy (Help!) 10:47, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • In reply to your latest comment (please reply here, I am watching this page): your edits are largely restricted to promoting Robbie Glover, mainly through the addition of unverifiable and in some cases provably false text. You are, as far as I can tell, either Robbie Glover or an obsessive fan. I'm afraid that neither is terribly helpful to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not the place to boost an act, not part of an act's PR, not the place to promote an act. Guy (Help!) 16:56, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ok thanks, I didn't realsie you saw the replys here, as I say, this whole wikipedia thing I'm not 100% used to working out etc.... and thanks also, I appreciate your time, everything that was on the Wiki page was 100% true & verified, their was newspaper articles, pictures of the vinyl releases & also the photo of the digital jukebox that the latest single is on all over the UK, I had a look at the following criteria about musicians and artists on Wiki & I found this information, of which I also fall very muchly into.

A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria:

It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, and television documentaries - (Lots of this including National UK paper The Sun, The Stage (Highly respected UK music industry paper which had a big record of the year feature in), I've also been on quite a few TV appearances/documentrys (which were linked & verified for verification.)

2. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart. (I have had TWO people's choice number one's across S.Europe as well as a record of the year there too, throughout their radio's abroad).

6. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. (My latest track features Dee Tails from MN8 (which you know all about) & is fully verified also)

7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. (I've done lots of radio features for BBC Leeds as well as local TV also)

11. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network - (Have had highly extensive European play many times as well as lots of UK radio too, including BBC Radio Onj'es 1Xtra)

So I meet more than any ONE part of that criteria.

Also, when i signed up to Wikipedia, because I was new to this I worked with someone from Wiki who was helping me & directed me in regards to the article, how to do it etc... on yourself, and advised me of verifiable sources, citations etc.... I worked really hard for months on this & I truly do not see why I can't have the page back up, when all this is behind, as I explained, this is not anything to do with self promotion.

"mainly through the addition of unverifiable and in some cases provably false text" - That i find a bit mean as your either calling me a liar & I did everythig within my will & power to contribute to Wiki with the verifiable sources (IE The newspaper article for example about the Record Of The Year & hit across S.Europe in The Sun).

Please don't say anything about "Self Promotion" as it's nothing to do with that, I believe I'm entitled to have a page up just as any other act that fits the criteria above.

I genuinly do not want the page up for self promotion & couldn't care less about that, seriously, I just feel that I should be able to have it up, just as anyone else should, self promotion and all that other stuff doesn't bother me or interest me in the slightest, theirs plenty of other things outside wikipedia that does that enough anyway :)

All I want from you is some help & guidance here as I think that this is highly unfair.

I hope you can understand and please help me out here

Thanking you kindly in advance & hope to hear from you soon !!!
