I decided it would be better to do a re-direct from Waldstadion (Aalen) to Städtisches Waldstadion since that is closer to the name in the German language. Thanks for alerting me to the double entry! Patken4 22:20, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SVG edit issue[edit]

Sorry for the inconvenience regarding the edit of existing SVG files. Before learning to "write" SVG file I was in fact using Inkscape to "draw" and export SVG. After that I only use Windows notepad to edit the SVG. Not realizing that the XML header and the DOCTYPE declaration are vital, I deleted them along with the Inkscape attributes. -- Sameboat - 同舟 03:57, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll answer on commons:User talk:Sameboat. --dealerofsalvation 08:38, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RDT[edit]

Railway line template\RDT[edit]

Do you know which WikiProject started Wikipedia:Formatvorlage Bahnstrecke, which was then copied at the English Wikipedia? As I don't speak German, could you leave a reply at en:User talk:Simply south? The discussion relevant to this is at en:Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Newsroom/WikiProject desk. Simply south (Diskussion) 17:19, 10. Aug. 2012 (CEST)

Done. --dealerofsalvation 06:35, 12. Aug. 2012 (CEST)
Hi Simply south,
as you requested, here I answer your question at de:User talk:dealerofsalvation#Railway line template\RDT: Yes, it was us at de.wikipedia starting it in 2006. The basic idea was by de:user:Bernina, who unfortunately is no longer active.[1]. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask them (here, I don’t like cross-posting and I’ve set up e-mail notification ;)) --dealerofsalvation 04:29, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I hope I've done this right. Were they doing it on behalf of a WikiProject or just to help other projects? Simply south...... flapping wings into buildings for just 6 years 17:47, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in case of rail topics on de.wikipedia, actions are discussed on de:Portal talk:Bahn, which was the case here too. Initially we didn’t have other wikis in mind, so first we uploaded the SVG icons locally, then someone suggested we might transfer them on Commons so other Wikipedias might use them, so we did, but unfortunately at that point we were stuck with the German abbreviations like BHF (“Bahnhof”) for station as they were used too much by then. IIRC nl.wikipedia and fr.wikipedia were the first other Wikipedias to use them. --dealerofsalvation 03:42, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
