It has been strongly suggested by fellow member Three ways round that we add references and sources to our articles and make this our priority for now, as expansion and addition of articles has been slow of late. Category News edit
The player positions pages have been renamed according to game type to be more accurate. Two more subcategories have been created: Woodsball, and Speedball. If any new pages are created that are related to these, please use their respective category tags instead of [[Category:Paintball]]. Thanks!

Priority Tasks edit
1. Find sources for all articles to remove original research issues. Resist the urge to simply enter new information based on your own playing experience (this applies especially to strategy and role based articles).
2. Pages about paintball markers, unless very notable and well sourced, should be either merged back into the main company's page - or a page detailing the company's series of products. Having a single page for each marker model is too unwieldly and yields a lot of stubs.
3. Top priority articles should reach at least C class.

You can't just cut-and-paste from another source, that's a violation of their copyright. You CAN write something new that has the same information though, and the content there was definitely worth inclusion. (I'm assuming, of course, that your addition was actually copied and not rewritten - maybe you did rewrite it, it just struck me as extremely similar to something I had read somewhere before.)

Electropneumatic paintball marker[edit]

While I certainly appreciate your motives in renaming this page, typically, an article whose name might be disputed would be listed at Wikipedia:Requested moves or at least discussed on the Talk page. If there is a standing WP:PAINTBALL policy for calling these objects markers as opposed to guns, please point me towards it. Regardless of the answer to that, however, marking such a change as "minor" is unwarranted.

While I thank you for being bold in making the move, any such change (especially one explicitly admitting in the edit summary that it is being done for political-correctness reasons as opposed to being done to enforce a community naming convention) is going to tend to invoke a lot of edit wars if not done carefully. I'll refrain from moving the page back, and indeed, probably oppose a vote to move it back, but I think it'd be appropriate to at least hold such a discussion on the article's Talk page at this point. Re: Boalt Hall[edit]

The opening of the article should list this official name first, and common or nicknames later. The official name is the "School of Law". Boalt is the common name. Of course no one goes around calling it "School of Law" because it is either too ambiguous (where?) or too formal/long (vs. Boalt). But this is not the title of the article. We are not using common names at the opening. We are using the official name as it is displayed by the university. This goes for other divisions, such as the UC Berkeley College of Engineering (notice the difference between the name of the article and the bolded title in the lead section). --Jiang 07:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you move the article? see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). the common name is Boalt Hall. The law schools at Va and Michigan are officially called those names. The law school at Berkeley is not. It's not about consistency. It's about using what is formal and proper.--Jiang

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Notability of Proto SLG[edit]

A tag has been placed on Proto SLG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Hi Donut, thanks for the note on my talk page with the additional refs. What I've done is moved the deleted text to a new sandbox I created in your user space: User:Donutmonger/sandbox.
