Notability for books[edit]

Hi! I thought I'd explain why the article was deleted. It was ultimately because at this point in time the books just aren't notable. This doesn't mean that they can't be notable in the future or that the idea isn't interesting, but notability guidelines are extremely strict on Wikipedia and it's difficult for even some of the more obviously notable works to pass WP:NBOOK.

Since it's likely that you're the author or a friend of his, I'd like to extend some general advice: your best option right now is to join a writing group. It can be one in your school or one online- either way it's a good idea to join up with them. Make sure that it's not comprised of your friends and family- what you need will be honest, critical opinions of the work so you can grow and produce even better work. Friends and family won't really be of much help because they'll be less likely to want to tell you something negative because they don't want to see you get upset. Your first works will not be perfect, nor your second or third books. You'll make mistakes, have plot holes, and write in a way that will make you cringe later on in your writing career. That's natural and it has nothing to do with being a teenager per se- every writer goes through this stage before they hit their stride. The author Edgar Cantero gives some great advice to this effect in this Redditt thread. (He's an incredible author- I'm reading his English language book right now, actually.)

Here are some great blogs and articles about starting off with writing and writing in general: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]. This link goes to a series of posts about the topic from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:23, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
