Hello, Eoghan Newman Kelley, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself has been or will shortly be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, but if you want to use the content from it, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Pumpmeup 23:28, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Eoghan Newman Kelley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. May 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Eoghan Newman Kelley, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. OlYellerTalktome 19:20, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you're waiting for information to add to the article, please create it out of the mainspace. Also, please see WP:N to learn more about what Wikipedia includes and what it does not. OlYellerTalktome 19:22, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Eoghan Newman Kelley. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Fumitol (talk) 19:38, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

Hello I am writing this about a very well known Architect in Florida who built over 50 schools during the 60's and 70's. His schools are spectacular and he has never been recognized for his efforts as an architect, I am going to school for architecture and want to recognize him by making a page for him. He is now in his late 70s and would really get a kick out of knowing that someone thought about him and gave him recognition that has been long overdue Thank you Gauge009 (talk) 19:43, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The problem here is that Wikipedia has guidelines for inclusion to determine what should be in the encyclopedia and what shouldn't (see here). The main way to tell if a subject (the architect in this case) is notable is if they have recieved any major awards or have been written about significantly (not just a mention) by a reliable and independent source (such as a newspaper). If he was never recognized, most likely, he's not really that notable. There are exceptions to this but I don't really see any proof here that an exception should be made. Do you have any links that would show that he's notable (newspaper/magazine articles)? If not, we'll have to move the context out of mainspace. We can move it to your user page for you to work until until the architect becomes notable if that's ok with you. If not, it will most likely be deleted. May 2010 (continued)[edit]

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the article Eoghan Newman Kelley has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. In this edit you used the edit summary "corrected more spelling errors and inserted references", but in fact your edit made no changes to spellings and added no references. In fact, apart from removing some white space, the only change made in that edit was to remove a speedy deletion tag. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:04, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Tuskawilla_Middle_School.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tuskawilla_Middle_School.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:39, 25 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 17:39, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Hudson high school1.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Hudson high school1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 03:55, 26 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 03:55, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:ZHPOD.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:ZHPOD.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Theleftorium (talk) 18:50, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading this media,

However, it would be nice if you could give some kind of indication as to what license the media is under. That way other people can be confident in making use of it for many varied purposes :)

Adding license information also helps prevent media you've put effort into creating from being deleted :)

You may wish to read Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators which will assist you :)

It would also be appreciates if you could add :

  • 1-2 paragraphs explaining what is shown in the image.
  • A location marker/geocode indicating the location of the building shown.

As well as helping those categorising the image, it will help other users of the image (including other academics) make better use of the image :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I took the three pictures I posted on the page myself with the schools permission, and I said that it was my own work?

Gauge009 (talk) 13:39, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gauge. I wish I could help with this issue but I don't really know much of anything about the media portion of Wikipedia. I'd check out media copyright questions page to see where to go from here. From what I know, it sounds like they shouldn't have been deleted but the editors who tagged them for deletion most likely know much more than me. If you ask there, I'm sure someone will help explain the issue(s) to you so that a solution can be reached. OlYellerTalktome 13:49, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Eoghan Newman Kelley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of significant coverage. The sources cited and those mentioned on the talk page all contain only passing mention of Kelley except for one, which is a Wikipedia article that gives no sources for its information about Kelley.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
