Can you please see what went wrong with this AfD. I guess the user who initiated it is new. And i am not very well experienced too. Can you mend it? Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MoviezAdda. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 08:02, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

AfDs

Just a quick note: I notice you frequently add articles to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Christianity, which is great, but that you often add them to the (little-used) section for PRODs. Am I missing some reason to do this? -- 203.171.197.78 (talk) 07:22, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Do you have a tool that you use for deletion sorting? If so, is it public? If so, can you point me to it please? Sven Manguard Wha? 22:23, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

It says here not to list porn actors/actresses at Actors and filmmakers but you always do is there something stating otherwise. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 14:32, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Please help. The John Austin (songwriter) page should not have been deleted.

The following article should not have been deleted:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_Austin_%28songwriter%29

All of the information contained in the article "John Austin (songwriter)" is factual. John Austin meets the notability requirements, having worked with many artists of notability, and having released publicly documented works for over 20 years. Paste Magazine has written feature articles on John Austin, and JA's album "Busted at the Pearly Gates" received an honorable mention in Paste Magazine as one of the most important albums of 2002. Please contact Paste Magazine's editor-in-chief Josh Jackson to verify.

Please put the article John Austin (songwriter) back up on Wikipedia. Thank you.

This article was deleted because the administrators overlooked 3rd party reliable sources that were better actually than the administrator's research seemed to show.

Additional online references will be cited to support the notability of songwriter John Austin.

Thank you.

Alicyn Sterling on the porn stars by decade page

Why exactly have you removed her after I placed her name there? She was one of the major minor starlets (and in the pron world, yes there is indeed such a creature) in the porn business in the mid-late 1990's. Yes, I know that she doesn't have her own personal page, but that doesn't mean she doesn't need to be included on a list of the porn stars of the 1990's. And she DID used to have a page, some years back, don't know when or why it was removed.

I put her name back where it belongs on the list. Unless you can come up with some insane brilliant reason why she shouldn't be on the list, which I assure you, you won't leave her name up where it belongs, in the correct place.

Darmund (talk) 21:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's notability guidelines, especially WP:Notability (people). The list is of notable pornstars. Alicyn Sterling was deleted from Wikipedia by editor consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alicyn Sterling. She may be "major" but she is not notable. Again, please stop adding actresses that don't have Wikipedia articles. Unless we keep the list clean, it may be targeted for deletion. Finally, please note that Tara Monroe was also deleted by editor consensus. • Gene93k (talk) 23:22, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

So Wikipedia isn't supposed to include all human knowledge but just what a bunch of nerds deem acceptable?

I mean I thought there weren't supposed to be any differentiations over whether something deserved inclusion in Wikipedia, but rather that it was supposed to be a database of ALL human accumulated knowledge. There may have been a case in the past when data storage limits were an issue but with the whole cloud thing, there isn't any such issue.

As far as porn stars go, it seems one of the qualifiers is that a porn star must have appeared in at least 100 films. Then why is Marilyn Chambers on the list? She appeared in less than 30 films.

You and your fellow nerds are also guilty of imposing your present day views of what is and isn't popular/well known on the past, especially where Alicyn Sterling is concerned. She was very well known and nominated for a dozen awards during her time in the porn industry. The fact that she has receeded into dim memory by some is immaterial when it comes to determining her status vis-a-vie inclusion on Wikipedia.

As for her not being allowed to be included if she doesn't have her own separate page, that is beyond ludicrous. I can can point out dozens nay hundreds of people mentioned in articles about Tv shows/movies and athletes in various sports and on various teams who don't have their own personal pages and their names haven't been expunged from Wikipedia.

Seems that there is yet another double standard against the porn industry at work here.

Wikipedia is continually bleated and shrieked about and held up as the most accurate encyclopedia EVARS!! by your fellow nerds, but when you exclude for ill-defined and quite frankly retarded reasons people and things who played a majorly minor role in the history of something, in this case the porn industry, you can hardly claim to be all encompassing or authoritative or most accurate.

More like least accurate.Darmund (talk) 16:27, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Wikipedia doesn't include everything under the sun. In general, a topic should have non-trivial attention from multiple reputable media sources. As for porn stars, a relevant guideline is WP:PORNBIO. Appearing in X number of films was removed from the notability criteria many years ago. Marilyn Chambers has extensive coverage in multiple books and mainstream media. Chambers also passes PORNBIO as inducted in the AVN Hall of Fame and the XRCO Hall of Fame. Alicyn Sterling lacks the media coverage. Can you provide evidence of the many award nominations that might count towards PORNBIO? • Gene93k (talk) 15:57, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Fartbarf (band) Article Deletion Suspect

Hello Gene, I noticed you were part of a thread invlving the deletion of a band page for Fartbarf. I was wondering how I can relist the article on the band Fartbarf as it was wrongfully deleted. There are indeed references that show that this band does exist and is professional in nature despite the name. I have personally seen them play live and they do in fact have a cult following of fans.

Thanks in advance for your help, -Oscillator

Catalano

I saw Ron Catalano with guitarist George Benson recently. I also saw him with Al Jarreau in Montreux, Switzerland. He is also listed as top artists from Wikipedia's Don Raffell's studio from Sherman Oaks, CA as one of the top notable musicians on a national scale. Check out the YouTube video Search: Tuttrup Jigsaw Catalano is the Tenor Sax soloist according to the credits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.1.133.214 (talk) 08:48, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Talk:List of New Jersey breweries requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Tinton5 (talk) 01:38, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Copyright issue for Daily Post India

Sir,

The page that I created was done because the Managing Director of the organization wanted it to be created.

However, I understand your issues regarding the copyright issue you found with the article and the text on the page http://dailypostindia.com/AboutUs.aspx?mid=53&catid=450

However, I assure you that I am a part of the organization and, in fact, have been given the responsibility of setting up such informative pages regarding the organization all over the Internet.

Since this is the first page I have created on Wikipedia, I am not too sure of what do next.

I can ask the Managing Director to send you an e-mail from his own ID (md@dailypostindia.com) confirming that dailypostindia@gmail.com is in fact an official e-mail for communique.

Would that be enough?

Regards.

Dailypostchandigarh (talk) 10:13, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

  • First of all, writing about your own organisation is highly discouraged as conflict of interest. As for copyright, someone at dailypostindia.com can send an e-mail to the Wikipedia OTRS office at permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org granting permission to use the content. Once permission is verified, an administrator may undelete the article. Finally, an article about the Daily Post needs to cite references from reliable media other than the Daily Post. Please see Wikipedia's notability guideline for media. • Gene93k (talk) 18:42, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Deleted page RV

I was notified that the Robert Visitacion page was deleted last month. After a few clicks I found the reason being was 'no references'. What references would you like? I can probably supply you with any references or contacts you need. just let me know.

Thanks, 6-25-12 (71.11.233.113 (talk) 03:14, 26 June 2012 (UTC))

  • Papaursa (talk · contribs) nominated Robert Visitacion for deletion. I didn't. An article will need citations from reliable sources (published articles from reputable media such as newspapers, books, etc.). Sites like IMDb are not considered reliable. The editors who voted at the deletion discussion did not find any reliable source coverage to support an article. • Gene93k (talk) 11:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

A totally random association

Hi Gene93k

Thank you for drawing attention of the proposed deletion of the article Metrication of British Transport to the attention of the relevant groups.

When I looked at your user page I noticed that you were from St Lucia. You might like to look at an article that I created a year or two ago - Charles Rawden Maclean.
