Welcome[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent edits, such as the ones to the page Alexandroupoli, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Pjposullivan (talk) 21:51, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Soufli. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Please stop adding Turkish names to the introductory paragraphs of articles on places in Greece. It is already covered in the naming sections of those articles. Pjposullivan (talk) 21:54, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Messages[edit]

Please read WP:Civility. I have blocked your email address, because I do not want to receive emails about subjects that should discussed on Wikipedia talk pages like this one. There already are policies on naming in Wikipedia. Please read them before sending emails, such as WP:Naming. You mention that the ancient Greek name is included, not the modern Greek name, this shows that population has nothing to do with it and it is not about minorities living in those cities. It is about WP:COMMONNAME. This is English Wikipedia, not Greek or Turkish Wikipedia - have you thought about helping out there? The present names and their ancient Greek counterparts are in the English-speaking world the common names. Please read WP:COMMONNAME and WP:Naming before editing those articles. After reading the policies I hope you like the way things are done here and that you continue editing Wikipedia. Happy editing, Pjposullivan (talk) 22:34, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
