Welcome[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted.

Proposed deletion of Bouncy Kick[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bouncy Kick, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

this cites no sources and there is no indication that the game is notable - see talk.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The problem with your article was that it gave no source to back up what it said: everything in Wikipedia needs to be verifiable from a reliable source.

But now, looking at the changes that an IP made, I see a more serious problem: your article is word-for-word the same as this website, which is copyright. Wikipedia cannot accept copyright information: at the bottom of every edit screen it says "Content that violates any copyright will be deleted. Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. You irrevocably agree to release your contributions under the GFDL".

I would normally at once tag your article for speedy deletion as a copyright violation; but there is a doubt in my mind, because my Google search did not find that website. It seems to be a single page on a free hosting service, and it looks a bit dodgy - no contact name, address or number. I suppose it is possible that someone has just set it up copying your article. Do you know anything about it, or who the IP was who added it to your article?

What I need to know urgently is, where did the words of your article come from? Did you write them yourself, and if so did you set up that website? or did you copy them from that website, or from somewhere else? Please reply here on your talk page - I will watch it. Some idiot aka my brother made that after I posted the article because the page. Hence the stupidity of the name, SBKA, doesn't exist. Greg Edwards is my Great Grandpa and I wanted an article made up about his game. I found out about in the Library lol - anyway my brother is sleeping at the moment so I will get him to take the stupid freewebs website off tommorow.
I did write it check history of what my brother wrote - its just stupid!
The game does exist and was played! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregzbest (talkcontribs) 22:30, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved your reply here from my talk page - let's have the conversation all in one place. I have put your talk page on my "watch-list", so if you reply here I will know.

What you need to do about the SBKA website is, either take it down (which is what I would recommend as it isn't genuine) or replace the copyright notice on it with the words "Re-use is permitted under the GFDL." Otherwise there are human and automatic systems which will flag your article as a copyright violation.

For the moment, I have removed the PROD notice from your article and put on an {{underconstruction}} tag which will protect it for a few days. What you need to do now is provide a reference to the book where you found the information - title, author, publisher, date, ISBN number (f the book is new enough to have one), page number where the game is described. Then you need to make sure that your article doesn't say anything that can't be checked in the book. If you can do that, I think the article should be OK - though I am not Authority, Wikipedia doesn't work like that.

One last point: on talk pages it is helpful to know who posted what when, so you should end each post with four "tilde" characters ~~~~ which the system will automatically turn into a "signature" with your username and the time and date - like this: --JohnCD (talk) 08:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 12:34, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How to get rid of the article[edit]

OK, I think you're right. As the author, you can get rid of the article by deleting it all and the putting {{db-author}} (two curly brackets each side) - that means "author requests deletion". Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:43, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I see you've blanked it - I've done the {{db-author}} bit for you. Don't be discouraged - have a look at Your First Article to learn more about contributing. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 12:46, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • It was removed. Accounts are anonymous, so I don't know who The deeman is - probably your brother? In any case, an admin has blocked the account because he thinks it is you with a second account - that's called "sockpuppetry" and is not allowed. He has also proposed the article for deletion so, unless someone objects, it will be gone in five days. I'll keep an eye on it. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 06:32, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
