Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Grey3k! I am Admrboltz and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! You did fine Grey, though a tip on talk pages, make sure you sign your posts by typing ~~~~ at the end of your message, and if you are creating a new section, make sure you use headers (or hit the "new section" tab up top). :) --Admrb♉ltz (tclog) 17:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Admin talk :)[edit]

Thanks again! Grey3k (talk) 17:23, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe getting photos for the trains.[edit]

I've mailed the CTRC and asked them to provide period photos for the infoboxes, I also hinted that more content and references would be appreciated and that their really the best source. Grey3k (talk) 05:41, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grey, I am not sure how you would incorporate the permission for that. I would suggest emailing [1] and asking them, they are the permissions people. --Admrb♉ltz (tclog) 21:56, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Send that email to the email address above this message. --Admrb♉ltz (tclog) 23:46, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Museum Name Change -- please read this[edit]

This is a letter from the Vice President of the CTRC, detailing the name change of the museum, I've re-directed the old Santa Clara Railroad Museum to San Jose Railroad Museum. Included is also a small amount of pertent train info, such as the transfer of ownership to the CTRC of little buttercup, aka Santa Fe #5.

Ron,

Thank you for your interest in our activities.

I personally have accumulated most of the "historic" images for the organization. A large portion of these are available from our website. Ironically, in service photographs of SP1215 and Little Buttercup have been difficult to locate. I understand the quandry about copyrights especially with older images. I suggest not posting historic images on the wikpedia site but provide a link to our photo gallery.

A couple of additional suggestions.

Most people refer to Santa Fe #5 as "Little Buttercup". I have not found the reason "why" the locomotive was assigned number 5. Suggest your entry include "Little Buttercup" in the title to ensure furture hits. Also, CSRM has recently transfered formal ownership of LBC to our organization.

Since our museum focus is now with the city of San Jose, suggest using the term "San Jose Railroad Museum'.

Feel free to use any of the text from our website/old newsletters.

Hi there,

First i'm a hobbist photographer, not a spammer :), I've been kinda taking care of your wikipedia entries on the proposed railway museum and your three locomotives ( actually 2479 is what captured my interest at first ). I've fleshed out the existing entries as much as I could and created those that didn't exist. I've added photos of the current disposition of the locomotives but I'd like a period photograph of each with a full head of steam for the little infobox on the right. I was wondering if you guys could provide these photos as your website seems to be the only source :). I didn't want to just take them as I'm very conscious of copyright. Shaping these articles up and making them look nice would improve your viability to internet and hopefully generate interest in your plans.

Also as I'm more of a beginning photographer and not a rail history buff, if one of your members would like to fill out the pages with more historical info and references that would be great!. I've included the 4 pages I've been working with so you can look and maybe do some edits your self. Also please feel free to email me if your uncomfortable working with the wikipedia, I'd be happy to enter any data you provide as long as there is a reference ( book, webpage, something ). Also more photographs ( like the lezen roundhouse before it was demolished) would be cool

Feel free to email me and if necessary pass my email to a member interested in fleshing out these articles.

Article rename[edit]

Not a problem. Because there already was an article at California Trolley and Railroad Corporation (it was a redirect to San Jose Railroad Museum), you could not move the article yourself. If you encounter that problem in the future, you can make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Just holler if you need anything else. - Eureka Lott 15:01, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Emma Prusch Farm Park"[edit]

A page you created, Emma Prusch Farm Park, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Miquonranger03 (talk) 18:42, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was just unsure about whether the park was notable for inclusion in Wikipedia or not, per WP:N. I'll place a hang-on tag for you, which will delay its deletion until a discussion on this can take place, on the article's talk page. Miquonranger03 (talk) 19:47, 6 September 2008 (UTC) :D[reply]
Ah, it's already there. Miquonranger03 (talk) 19:52, 6 September 2008 (UTC) :D[reply]

Rose garden picture[edit]

The picture is fine, but it's a picture of the "Heritage" Rose Garden, which is different from the "Municipal" Rose Garden. The Heritage garden has lots of old roses crammed together, while the MRG has fewer types and many of each in larger beds. Compare [2] with, for instance, [3]. (I have some MRG pics myself, but my backlog is horrendous, haven't got as far as uploading those yet.) Stan (talk) 20:55, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:BaldwinRS12.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
