It's obvious that you are interested in the history of Anglo-Saxon England, & that you are familiar with the material, but it would be a help to the rest of us interested in this field if you would explain your edits in the Edit summary field. -- llywrch 22:55, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please excuse my inexperience!

Hovite 13:09, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Much thanks for doing that. For my next request, would you find the time to create a user page? I know, I'm demanding a lot. -- llywrch 23:19, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

It is great to see you editing Wikipedia. I just made a small edit to Hæha. I would recommend creating some redirects to article with special characters like æ Æ, et cetera. Most people are not going to try to type those characters. You make redirects but leave the actual article with the special character titles. Just create the new page, type #REDIRECT[[Pagename]] and fill in the pagename. If you need any help with anything, just let me know. See you around! Alas, the number of variants for a name such as Æðelberht can be very large, ranging from Aethilberht to Albert, added to which there are short forms: Nunna for Noðhelm, Offa for Osfrið, Osa for Oswald.

Hovite 13:09, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't really a problem (Wikipedia is not paper). You may want to be more careful with names such as Albert, which are quite common and refer to lots of people, but for the rest it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also, I think that Psy guy meant that names such as æxyz should have a redirect from aexyz. This is not to do with alternate spellings, it's because it's much easier to type an article name that way. Notability of Wulfgar of Abingdon[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wulfgar of Abingdon, by Awadewit, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wulfgar of Abingdon seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wulfgar of Abingdon, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Wulfgar of Abingdon itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:46, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
