Aggies win over UT[edit]

File:Loser2.jpg
Well, the Longhorns blew it. For the second year in a row they lost to their arch-rival, Texas A&M. For the second year in a row, they were outcoached and outplayed. Way to go Aggies, you deserve the win. Gig 'em and good luck in the Alamo Bowl!

:-)[edit]

This bet turned out well. 131.44.121.252 (talk) 21:24, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for giving me a laugh today :) I'm (almost) ashamed to say that I was more excited that Fran got fired then I was about the final score! It was like Fran and Mack Brown changed coaching styles for a while...very weird. Karanacs (talk) 21:53, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Injury+"insult"[edit]

Wanted to let you know that the Aggie Bonfire article will be featured this Saturday. Thanks for all your help on the article. 131.44.121.252 (talk) 22:56, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I always wanted to give you one of these, but never got around to it, so here you go! Happy New Year!

You're welcome - glad it cheered you up! Anyway, the "super bowl" win aside, last season was a big fiasco for the Aggies. I'm hoping the new coach utilizes A&M's talent well. The Longhorns performed very well, especially in the Holiday Bowl when ASU got their asses handed to them - that win will definitely give the Horns a top 10 preseason ranking. As for next season, I think these guys have a good shot at winning the conference, or at least the South Division. As for our game, it will be in Austin so the Horns will definitely have the favor. What do you think? Don't jinx the Horns this time ;) BlueAg09 (Talk) 17:01, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help on the 2008 A&M article. The last 2+ win streak the Aggies had against Texas was from 1991-94. In fact, the record since 1975 is in A&M's favor, thanks to our domination from 1984-94 (except for 1990). Anyway, I do think the Horns will go to a BCS bowl this upcoming season, if not the title game. I don't think losing Jamaal is a big issue - isn't there a 4 or 5-star high school RB looking to play for Texas? As for the Aggies, their first game is on August 30th against Arkansas State - Mike Sherman's debut game. Coincidentally, Fran's debut game in 2003 was against Arkansas State as well. Did you know Sherman's middle name is Francis? Our "Fran I" was like your Mack I, and Mack II did a lot of good things for the Longhorn football program. Hopefully our Fran II will not mimic what Fran I did and make Aggie football pleasant to watch. BlueAg09 (Talk) 18:34, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the RB I was talking about. He's the fourth best player and best RB in his class. Here's the latest news on him. I think he would easily fill in the gap that Charles left. BlueAg09 (Talk) 23:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uhh....[edit]

Why did you do this? MECUtalk 20:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My guess is he assumes you are going to create an article for that eventually and rather than having a red link on his 2008 Texas page, he went ahead and created a redirect so the link isn't red and when you do create the article, his page will automatically go to it. amiright?↔NMajdantalk 20:14, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
NMajdan is 100% correct! I was working on the 2008 Texas article and I didn't like the red links. Mecu, I figured you would come along soon and make a proper article. In the meantime, at least the redirect takes the reader to some place that is fairly useful. Johntex\talk 20:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uh oh[edit]

Well, I've decided to apply to join the dark side. As a user with whom I have interacted, I would appreciate your input on my nomination. This is not a request for support, though any support would be appreciated, but simply a request for feedback. — BQZip01 — talk 03:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for the comments. I will hit those articles you mentioned sometime within the next day or so (I am working erratic hours this week). I've been focused on moving from the west and the panhandle eastward, with a few random hits on things that interest me (or I have a connection with in real time), but I hope to knock out the whole state this month. If you should run across anything I've assessed that you felt is off the mark, let me know. I am trying to be fairly consistant without inflating the class or importance. Again thanks for the "thanks"! Jacksinterweb (talk) 19:44, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am done interacting with those people. They are guilty of ownership and POV-pushing, and no one is willing to do anything about it. Therefore, it is of no further use interacting with them. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 22:53, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:OK_Airpark_from_the_air.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:OK_Airpark_from_the_air.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:56, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
