@BusterD: Wow, thanks! --Kanasalaatti (talk) 06:32, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Wow indeed! Great job with your vandalism patrol today. BusterD (talk) 07:40, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since you've demonstrated you can be trusted with twinkle for vandalism reversion,[edit]

I'd like you to consider using the same utility for performing escalating user warnings. First, some questions: when you revert a case of vandalism, does a new window pop up of the "vandal's" user talk page? If so, do you see tabs at the top of your editing screen with the names: arv, warn, wel, tb, csd, xfd, rpp, last, unlink? You may see some or all of them. Do you see those tabs? I'm sorry if my comments above came across as condescending. My intention was for you to feel welcome to edit boldly and learn to apply escalating warnings after vandalism reversion. I did not see (until now) you are a media-wiki developer and active on the Finnish Wikipedia (as it clearly states on your user page). Thanks for helping out with English Wikipedia. If I can be at all useful, feel invited to call on me. BusterD (talk) 15:05, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have used Wikipedia before with a different account. And answering your previous question; when I undo vandalism with Twinkle, I open a new window to the user or IP talk page (new section), but I don't see anything in it "arv, warn, wel, tb, csd, xfd, rpp, last, unlink" etc. I have recently also been active more on other Wikipedia than Finnish Wikipedia. And I am mw-developer, I have own wikis. --Kanasalaatti (talk) 08:12, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You make not be aware of Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace, which lists all the warning templates I normally use with vandalism, to "mark" and document user misbehavior, if such it is. In order for me to turn these extra buttons on, I go to Preferences tab, then Gadgets option, then scroll down to "Twinkle" checkbox. After clearing my chache, I get the additional tools which make applying user-warnings an almost automated process. When I revert vandalism I like to warn users so they are ware someone is watching. This helps me if I need to report the contributor to an appropriate noticeboard for admin action. It also helps the admin if one is needed by showing the user has been warned before any block is applied. BusterD (talk) 09:50, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
