This is a coiled line on a sailboat: How To Correctly Coil Rope. A line that's coiled is for working the boat. Flaked (flemish) is for show. Proper flaked lines are used for working ship where loads come hard and fast and are dangerous (think tugboat). Call it coiled if you must, but old sailboat navy guys beg to differ. Terminology depends on where you come from and technical jargon often changes the fastest. Have a great day! Best Rgds, -H- 134.41.36.86 (talk) 16:14, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up; I don't know much about much the technical language regarding it, so I assume you know more. I've gone ahead and undid my revert. Katryn Khoroszov (talk) 18:03, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
