Speedy deletion of LowlandsB jfc[edit]

A tag has been placed on LowlandsB jfc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. FixmanPraise me 21:15, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I saw your question on Talk:LowlandsB jfc. Please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a personal web site. I suggest you start a personal web site to keep historical information of your club. --A More Perfect Onion (talk) 21:45, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i understand what you are saying, but it is not just for my use it is for people in my team and people around school to see how we are doing, and making this page will give me a sense of achievement. is there anyway to keep this page?
Then please review the policy on notability. If this is a school club, your best option is to make a page for the club on your preferred social networking site. (Also, please remember to sign talk page posts with four tildes.) --A More Perfect Onion (talk) 21:58, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • First, I'm not an admin, I don't delete pages; I'm attempting to address your desire to gain recognition for your football club. Second, Wikipedia is a site for things that are notable, not a way to gain notability. So I suggest you contact your school and see if they have their own web site for such groups as your team. I suggest you review the guidelines for making your first article. I'm watching this talk page, so I will see further replies as they are posted here. --A More Perfect Onion (talk) 14:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

so you are trying to get admin to let me have this page on my football team? Lfcman1234 (talk) 16:03, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you work on the article in your user sandbox: FOLLOW THIS LINK TO YOUR SANDBOX
Rewrite the article to demonstrate the notability of the team, not simply a list of who currently plays for the team. Also, you might be able to get assistance at WikiProject Sports or the project for the appropriate sport.
