January 2010[edit]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your article contributions. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. For a better understanding of what distinguishes articles from these type of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Xavier March[edit]

All the information a reader needs is already in Fatherland (novel). There's no need for a separate article on this one character. Fences&Windows 15:47, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. A small point: new comments go at the bottom of talk pages. Is Xavier March really independently notable? Is there enough to say about this fictional character such that including all the salient facts about him found in reliable sources would imbalance the main article? (paying attention to WP:UNDUE)
See WP:AVOIDSPLIT:

Editors are cautioned to not immediately split articles if the new article would meet neither the general notability criterion nor the specific notability criteria for their topic. Instead, editors are encouraged to work on further developing the main article first, locating sources of real-world coverage that apply both to the main topic and the subtopic. Through this process, it may become evident that subtopics or groups of subtopics can demonstrate their own notability and help justifying splitting off into their own article.

Karl-Adolf Hollidt[edit]

Hi MJDietrich, please explain the reason why you recently removed most the content from the article Karl-Adolf Hollidt (link to the edit you made). Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 17:21, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, okay, no problem, I'll merge some of the stuff that I have written with your stuff. Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 18:01, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've replaced the text you accidentally removed. (If you want a hand with uploading pictures the best place to ask is the WP:Help desk). Kindest regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 18:09, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, MJDietrich. You have new messages at MuffledThud's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

A tag has been placed on Giverism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Island of Angry Ghosts has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable book

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stifle (talk) 14:21, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Einsteinium, you may be blocked from editing. Materialscientist (talk) 06:21, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
