Postage stamps of Thailand

Hello, I reinstated the article Postage stamps and postal history of Thailand as we conventionally have separate articles for national post offices and the postage stamps of a country. Thanks. Philafrenzy (talk) 10:21, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Yes, that's fine. But why remove the history of the post office operations? Mootros (talk) 09:24, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Because we normally deal with a country's postal history in the other article, reserving the post office article for current operations of the national post office, otherwise the history is duplicated. Thanks, Philafrenzy (talk) 11:08, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Not sure about this. Look at the Royal Mail article with its lengthy history section. Mootros (talk) 04:07, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:05, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Link of dubious relevancy / Hikkake Pattern

The link is directly relevant to the proper definition, as noted in the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the introduction. Please exaplain why you feel it has "no revelency". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duttywine (talkcontribs) 13:50, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Which article are you referring to? Mootros (talk) 09:24, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Your merge proposal

If you are going to tag an article (this one) suggesting a merger, could you please open a section on the talk page and put forward your rationale. Thanks. Srnec (talk) 23:31, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Didn't I do this here? Mootros (talk) 03:10, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
My bad. Were you aware there is an ongoing discussion at Talk:Kingdom of Germany? —Srnec (talk) 04:01, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I was just following the merger instruction that say the discussion should be at the target page. Mootros (talk) 04:06, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Awards talk page

Hi. On the Wikipedia Service Awards talk page, where is any discussion of the changes that you just made to award titles? Pine(talk) 05:21, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Pls see here You may use the discussion here there, if you think there is a problem. Thank! Mootros (talk) 05:35, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
Yes there's a problem. You need to stop screwing around with the Service Awards. I had thought that you were done with that, but apparently not. You need a clear and significant consensus agreement for changes that you want to make. This applies to you in particular because -- sorry to be harsh, but -- it's a question of competence. The changes that you make are usually at best pointless roiling of the material (which should be kept as stable as is reasonably possible) to no significant gain, sometimes degrades the material, and causes extra work for other (for instance, changes that you had made earlier broke the {{service awards}} which is a pain to fix). It's not clear exactly what you've done with the various recent moves and so forth, but rather than me trying to figure it all out I'd rather that you undo these yourself if you'd be so kind. I thank you for your desire to contribute, but there are many other venues -- article work, page patrol, cleanup lists, and so forth -- that are also in need of attention. Copy-and-paste move

I notice you recently moved Template:Lord High Togneme to Template:Lord High Gom Togneme. I guess you were unhappy with your choice of name, since you then copy-and-pasted the page's content to Template:Gom and nominated Template:Lord High Gom Togneme for speedy deletion. I removed the speedy deletion notice, as deleting that page would lose the edit history of the content you copied to Template:Gom, and therefore violate the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license by denying attribution to editors who worked on that content.

As a violation of the page move process, Template:Gom needs to be temporarily deleted under speedy deletion criteria G6 so that an administrator can merge its history with that of Template:Lord High Togneme. The page will be restored once the history merge is complete. If you think I nominated the template in error, contest the nomination by visiting the template's talk page directly to give your reasons.

I'm guessing you used a copy-and-paste move because Template:Gom already existed, and you didn't think you could overwrite it. For future reference, know that MediaWiki does allow non-admins to move a page over an existing page provided that:

  1. the page to be overwritten is a redirect to the page you are trying to move, and
  2. the page to be overwritten has no history other than its creation.

Before your changes, Template:Gom was a redirect to Template:Lord High Togneme with no history other than its creation. You could have moved Template:Lord High Gom Togneme back to Template:Lord High Togneme and from there moved it to Template:Gom. This would have properly preserved attribution history.

Please refrain from moving pages using copy-and-paste. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself, follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 01:01, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I've also submitted Template:Lord High Gom Togneme UserboxTemplate:Gom Userbox for cut and paste move repair. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 03:18, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
OK, thanks for doing this.Mootros (talk) 03:52, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Some rational behind my "quick fix": Template:Gom was the original template before it was moved to Template:Lord High Togneme by someone and than to Template:Lord High Gom Togneme by me. From there I just copied anything back into Template:Gom. Indeed this should have been done properly. Thanks for pointing thus out. Mootros (talk) 04:03, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Try to look into editing pattern, before accusing people of vandalism please. This was some genuine processing error that deleted parts of article. I was just about this fix this. Try to use the tool with care please. Mootros (talk) 08:44, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Mootros, sorry for the message if this was because of an edit error. Removing references and all interwikis did appear to be vandalism. I used only the first level of warning, mentioning "did not appear to be constructive". Regards, SchreyP (messages) 08:56, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Apologies accepted. Good day and happy editing. Mootros (talk) 08:59, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
