Request reason:

I have been trying to provide adequate and substantiated documentation where "citation needed" comments are cited. For instance, on the theater credits I provided legitimate theater websites for both my Broadway (which is incidentally also cited on Wikipedia - "Les and Bess") and then my Off-Broadway credits, but they were not accepted. Also, all my film and television work is substantiated on the ImDb website which I also tried to enter but was rejected. I am also a veteran of the armed forces but proving that in a citation is quite hard as the general public cannot access verification without actually writing to the government in request for my service record. So I need a suggestion of how to substantiate that to you.
And my wife's credentials for food editing which I tried to enter is readily substantiated in her thirty years working full time for the New York Times, Bon Appetit Magazine, Rachel Ray Magazine, and Food and Wine Magazine (all on the website per her work and recipes). I know that your site is trying to vet facts. I just need some help in regards as to why you keep refuting these proven and substantiated entries. Please help me. Decline reason:

As noted below, please visit Talk:Jeff McCracken to discuss changes you feel are needed to the article, you are only blocked from editing the article itself. You may make specific requests for changes in the form of an edit request(click for instructions) or just in general comments on that page. I would note that unless your military service is discussed in independent reliable sources, it can't really be mentioned on Wikipedia, because Wikipedia summarizes publicly available independent reliable sources; government documents are primary sources. IMDB is not considered a reliable source on Wikipedia as it is user-editable. You don't need to source your work in a production as your involvement can be confirmed simply by watching the film/television work itself where your name is in the credits. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

An administrator will address your unblock request above. In the meantime, if you'd like to journey over to Talk:Jeff McCracken, you're perfectly free to edit there (and everywhere else on Wikipedia except your own article) and maybe some updating can proceed forthwith. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 14:29, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious if I can list my directing work in the special boxes after the acting category? Mrjeffmcc (talk) 15:41, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to amend the film :"One Cup of Coffee" that I executive produced. It one the Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival under that title - but then was bought by Miramax and then renamed and released as: "Pastime" (it is on Wikipedia)
Could you please either cite the name change in the body of the sentence - or just rename the film to "Pastime"?

Hi - please keep discussion of the article at the talk page of the article (Talk:Jeff McCracken). I'll continue this there. 97.126.106.3 (talk) 17:25, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is a New York Times review for the citation of the plays I did as a Circle Repertory member by Lanford Wilson and Beth Henley:

I was not only a professor at NYU Tisch - but a professor at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts from 2008-2012:

I would like to bring to your attention that I was hired as an "associate professor" - not "assistant professor". In the existing citation the reporter made an error in my title after my first quote - if you read further to the actual names that were hired you'll see all the accurate titles of those hired - my correct title: Jeff McCracken - associate professor. I was there from 2008 - 2012. It's a big distinction.
Also, there is a credit missing in the television credits list: TV Film - "Hawaiian Heat Movie for television" two hours in length - which was then turned into a television series where we then made the 10 episodes afterwards that you cited. Also, I'm wondering why I cannot not say that I was "starring" or the "lead" in "Bay City Blues" and "Hawaiian Heat" series? I was not guest actor which is a big distinction. I see it all the time in other actor's pages.

And here are four additional citations for Janet McCracken's thirty years as a food editor and test kitchen director.

Also, what is the issue with the inability to say that "Quiz Show" was nominated for an Academy Award and won the New York Film Critics Award for best film; or that "Pastime" won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. I see these kind of mentions in every other posting, including Michael Jacobs, who I worked with and produced "Quiz Show".
I also want to know why I cannot mention that my grandfather is the highly regarded jazz musician Bob McCracken. I see this kind of human interest material all the time. I get that you do not want the material to be self-promoting - but if they are just the plain facts I don't see the issue. I'm very proud that he's my grandfather.
Thanks again - I really do appreciate all that you're doing to assist. It's been a real learning curve. Mrjeffmcc (talk) 15:14, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - I'm not going to be checking this page regularly (and I doubt anyone else will be). It'd be best to use the Edit Request Wizard to make suggestions, since that will put them in the right place (Talk:Jeff McCracken) and flag them for attention. You could also use the {{request edit}} or even the {{Help me}} template, but the Wizard is much easier if you don't want to venture down the rabbit hole of figuring out how templates work. For other, further assistance and explanations, there's always the Teahouse, which you've already found, and where I occasionally hang out in my ghostly IP form. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 19:44, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
One further brief explanation here - no matter how plain a fact, on Wikipedia it needs a citation. There are lots of articles lying about which contain material that doesn't meet our guidelines; we correct what we can (and what we feel like correcting, we're all volunteers here) and try to prevent more of it from being thrown on the pile. It's a task worthy of Sisyphus. Now I'm off to keep wandering the cosmological wilds... 199.208.172.35 (talk) 19:51, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hahaha! Thanks for all your help. I'm blocked for three months, so I'll have to wait to make any further adjustments (with citations). All the best. 24.151.127.36 (talk) 19:59, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
