Aircraft specs typo

Hi Nick,

The typo you are fixing was actually a problem with the template, I have fixed it there but have not checked to see if it is working. I would hold off on any more fixing until we know that it is working. Cheers Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 20:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Please add explanation for sic at Robert Rossen

You add a {{sic}}} at Robert Rossen - why? Could you please add the explanation into the {{sic}}. --Philcha (talk) 21:14, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Per my edit summary, the word Hierarchy is misspelled. The link would not load correctly for me, so I couldn't see whether it was misspelled in the referenced work. Nick Number (talk) 21:17, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

I checked "hierarchy" and it's OK all the way to late May 2010. I think your {{sic}}} is wrong. --Philcha (talk) 06:41, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Ok, we have some kind of fundamental misunderstanding here. The reference I added the tag to has the chapter name listed as "Harry's Hierachy". If it is actually spelled that way in the linked book then my {{sic?}} should be changed to {{sic}}. If not then the spelling should be corrected to "Harry's Hierarchy" and the tag should be removed. Nick Number (talk) 14:20, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Chapter of what book? So far your comments have been less than helpful. --Philcha (talk) 18:14, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Here, I will quote the entire reference from the article.

  • Dick, Bernard F. (1993). "Harry's Hierachy". The Merchant Prince of Poverty Row: Harry Cohn of Columbia Pictures. University Press of Kentucky. pp. 157–180. ISBN 0813118417. Retrieved 3 Mar 2010.{{cite book}}: CS1 maint: ref duplicates default (link)

See how it says "Harry's Hierachy"? That should be spelled "Hierarchy", unless the chapter name is actually spelled "Hierachy" in the book The Merchant Prince of Poverty Row. Nick Number (talk) 20:46, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Just in case

Hello Nick Number. I noticed your entry on the request Wikipedia:Requested moves#Current requests page regarding the "Category:Particpants in the Telangana rebellion". I think that the proper spot to bring this is Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. My experience is that category name changes and moves are usually handled more quickly there. I could be wrong and you might get what you are looking for the way that you have handled it but I wanted to let you know about this just in case. Cheers and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 21:16, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. I will put future category move requests there. However, it looks like this one got taken care of. Nick Number (talk) 13:17, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi again. I am glad that what you were looking to accomplish was taken care of. With wikipedia, in some areas, there can be more than one way to get things done. Have a great weekend. MarnetteD | Talk 15:08, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Sic tags

Hello. I noticed you added a bunch of 'sic' tags to an article here for spelling mistakes when it was clear that whoever wrote the article has an imperfect command of English. In future, it would be better to correct the spelling mistakes than to add the tag. Cheers, Oreo Priest talk 15:42, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

The misspellings are in text quoted from an offline source. Since I don't have access to the source, I wasn't able to verify whether the mistakes were present there or were introduced by the person quoting it. I elected to err on the side of caution and add {{sic|?}} tags (note the question mark) so that someone with access to the source could either correct the spellings or change the tags to {{sic}}. Thanks for the Help

Nick thanks for the hjelp with the Battletech sites. I am not great with the perfect typing skills though i'm able to help assist in making a page better than it was. Go through alot of the Battletech linked pages I have worked on almost all of them and have bult some from the ground up. I will be in the for-seen future removing forwarded pages and changing them back to their last edit. Also alot the pages I will be down sizing them and moving a large chunk of them to their respective pages.Popa01 (talk) 19:27, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

I was responsible for the careless spelling mistakes within the article entitled West Hartlepool War Memorial corrected by yourself yesterday 3 September 2010 without any chance of getting rewards from myself other than these genuine thanks. Peter Judge 4 September 2010.
