A belated welcome![edit]

SS Peter and Paul parish church, Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Nikreations. As well as writing for Wikipedia I've been contributing photos to Wikimedia Commons for several years, including many of Oxfordshire churches. It's a huge task, so I look forward to improving Wikipedia articles by adding links to your panoramas on Google.

I see that you've already been contributing for more than a year, and I'm sorry no-one has welcomed you before. Thank you for your contributions. You seem to be successfully finding your way around, so please forgive me if any of the following tells you what you have already found out for yourself. However, you may find some of the links below useful, as they help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

When you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Again, welcome!

Church interiors[edit]

I've reverted a number of your additions of links to 360 views of church interiors; while they're interesting, and valid on articles that are specifically about the churches in question, I think they're inappropriate for articles about the settlements in general, where they fail the WP:ELNO guideline: "one should generally avoid providing external links to...sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject: the link should be directly related to the subject of the article. A general site that has information about a variety of subjects should usually not be linked from an article on a more specific subject. Similarly, a website on a specific subject should usually not be linked from an article about a general subject." (my emphasis). Dave.Dunford (talk) 14:32, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. kelapstick(bainuu) 15:25, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
