Can you explain how these edits were promotional? There's nothing to promote as this show is not active, but I'd like to be able to help update this page as it is wildly out of date, incomplete, and in some places factually inaccurate and I have first hand knowledge and physical documentation. Pushing the envelope of what instrumental musicians can do on stage is literally the mission of the company and didn't seem too different from "Following the success of the original production" in the preceding sentence. Genuinely asking for guidance because that was an hour down of work down the drain.PJWoodpecker (talk) 03:09, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Of course--there are a lot of reasons your edits weren't acceptable, but to summarize: 1. You removed sourced content. It may have been outdated, but it was supported by citations. Probably not the best, since they appear to be WP:PRIMARY sources, but better than nothing. 2. You added unsourced content. A lot. An encyclopedia can only publish material that's supported by WP:RELIABLE sources. 3. It wasn't neutral. "Continuing to push the limits of on-stage instrumental musicians" and "Blast! has enjoyed significant success throughout Japan" are a bit promotional, and pointing out previously problematic content doesn't make it better. 4. First hand knowledge is not acceptable, per WP:NOR. Also, please read WP:COI, in case that's relevant. If so, your association must be divulged. These are all common mistakes for new editors, so I encourage you to read the guidelines, as linked above. Thanks, 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:43, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. This is all understandable and useful. No COI to worry about, just seemed like an easy thing to fix since I have a few souvenir programs, but I'll stick to smaller edits that are easier to cite.PJWoodpecker (talk) 03:56, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
