Have some cake[edit]

Have some chocolate cake!

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia! The links provided above by DaveApter (talk · contribs) are a pretty good start, I'd suggest reading those and let me know if you have any questions about how things work. I'd also suggest taking a gander at these additional links, which should help you in citing reliable sources as consistent with our policy of verifiability. WP:CIT also has some helpful templates for doing that. Sláinte! Cirt (talk) 16:18, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I want some of that cake! :D Hi, ProlixDog. You're not quite there, but just as a precaution of sorts, to avoid any unnecessary frustration, I want to let you know about our three revert rule. Please take a moment to read over that just to ensure there's no added stress in your editing. Violations of that rule usually result in a block, which we obviously prefer to avoid. Do you happen to have any milk to go with that cake?! لennavecia 03:03, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yummy! Though the cream on the side looks a little like a papadum. Thanks about the 3RR reminder, I think I had misunderstood it before, thinking it referred to consecutive changes, a little like the Go_(game) ko rule. ProlixDog (talk) 04:26, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting[edit]

Hi ProlixDog. Thanks for your contributions to the Landmark discussion. Could you please indent your entries so that it's easier for people to follow the threads of the conversation.

It can be a wearing business editing highly contested topics with strongly held opposing viewpoints. You might benefit from taking a bit more time honing your editing skills on articles on more factual topics that interest you. This may also help to avoid your being seen as a single issue editor, which could diminish the weight given to your arguments. DaveApter (talk) 09:56, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, will do. Steep learning curve, all these markup codes. I'm committed to contributing to Wikipedia broadly, and have started to do so. ProlixDog (talk) 13:44, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed categories[edit]

Hi, ProlixDog! I removed the categories from the article you were working on in your subpage, since they put userspace pages in mainspace categories (see Wikipedia:Cat#User_namespace). In the future, when building an article in your userspace or copying articles from the mainspace to your userspace, try to remove the categories. Thanks! Speedy deletion of Tony Mendez (Host)[edit]

A tag has been placed on Tony Mendez (Host) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. –Drilnoth (TC) 21:14, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
